Sales Automation for Founders: Build a Human, Repeatable Process

Sales automation works best when it removes repetitive administration and makes the next human action obvious. It should not turn founder-led selling into an impersonal broadcast process.

Map the current journey from enquiry to close. Identify where leads arrive, what makes them a fit, when follow-up happens, how meetings are booked and which information must be recorded. Automate only a clear, repeatable step.

A sensible starting workflow captures an enquiry, records consent where required, assigns a next action, sends a relevant acknowledgement and alerts the founder when context or judgement is needed. Use branches for replies, objections, no response and requests not to be contacted.

Review where customer data is stored, who can access it, how long vendors retain it and whether information crosses borders. Do not place confidential or sensitive information into consumer AI services without appropriate review.

Measure time to first response, follow-up completion, qualified meetings, proposal conversion and days to close. Review automated messages regularly. If automation increases volume but reduces relevance or trust, simplify it.
